VLAA Seeks Associate Director

We are seeking a part-time Associate Director whose primary responsibilities are managing our referral service and college outreach program. The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director. Our three-person staff also includes a part-time Community Engagement Manager.

Compensation
$23 per hour

Hours
Approximately 12-15 flexible hours per week, which may increase over time (Work hours must be spread across three or more days, Monday and Friday, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.) Occasional evening and Saturday work, as needed

Work Environment
Our office is in the High Low building in Grand Center; some remote work can be scheduled.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Managing our referral service, which matches clients with volunteer lawyers and accountants
• Managing Upstart, our college outreach program
• Responding to day-to-day email and phone messages
• Entering and updating data in Salesforce
• Proofreading grant proposals and e-newsletters
• Assisting with website updates and social media posts
• Attending workshops, meetings, and events, as needed
• Covering for the Executive Director, as needed

Qualifications/Skills
• Passion for working artists, our region’s creative community, and our service mission
• Ability to learn and absorb new information quickly (This position requires familiarity with the most common legal and accounting needs of artists, creative businesses, and nonprofit cultural organizations.)
• Ability to listen and respond respectfully to clients and volunteers
• Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to input data with a high level of accuracy
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with WordPress and Adobe Suite preferred
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion
• A college degree in a relevant field is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in the arts, nonprofit job experience, and/or exposure to arts-related legal and business matters.
