Meet Marissa Camp

We are pleased to announce that Marissa Camp is our new part-time Associate Director. Her primary responsibilities are managing our referral service and college outreach program. She succeeds Brianna McIntyre.

Born and raised in Ferguson, Camp holds a BA in studio art with a certificate in illustration from Webster University. She works in a wide variety of media, including digital and traditional illustration, cyanotype printing, letterpress printing, sculpture, and ceramics.

In 2022, Camp participated in the Regional Arts Commission’s Gyo Obata Fellowship program. At the time, the 10-week paid summer program targeted undergraduates from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in arts administration. Camp was placed at Central Print, where she got hands-on experience in marketing, event planning, and donor relations.

The fellowship was also Camp’s introduction to VLAA. During one of their weekly meetings, the fellows visited with Executive Director Sue Greenberg to discuss the strengths and challenges of the nonprofit cultural sector. Camp recalls being impressed by VLAA’s impact and inspired by our mission.

Camp will continue to work part-time at the Apple Store at the Galleria, where she is a technical expert who knows how to address customer needs with empathy, collaborate across teams, and work in a fast-paced environment — skills that make her a perfect fit for VLAA.
