Meet Brianna McIntrye
May 16, 2024 | News & Events,
We are pleased to announce that Brianna McIntyre is our new part-time associate director. Her primary responsibilities are managing our referral service and college outreach program.
McIntyre is a St. Louis-born artist whose practice investigates social and political identities through her critical spatial practice and research. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Brianna’s work is rooted in fiber art and object design while moving in tandem with interior architecture. McIntyre is a board member at Project Fielding, a teacher’s collective in Chicago that teaches woodshop and power tool literacy to femme-identified and gender-variant youth and adults. She is also the co-founder of Occupy Vacancy, a public art initiative within the Vandeventer neighborhood, and was the 2023 Wayfinding Fellow at The Luminary. McIntyre studied political science and international development at the University of Maryland – College Park and holds a bachelor’s degree in Fiber and Material Studies and Designed Objects from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
She succeeds Ken Konchel, our longtime associate director, who is retiring. Ken is looking forward to devoting more time to his black-and-white abstract architectural photography practice and his volunteer work.
