Our annual “thank you” holiday reception will be held in the MADE, 5127 Delmar, on Thursday, December 6, 5:30 to 7:00 PM. The free event will feature self-guided tours of the new makerspace and live music by Paul Niehaus IV.
MADE stands for Makers, Artists, Designers and Entrepreneurs. The new facility, which opens later this month, will offer members access to a plethora of equipment and educational experiences. When TechShop St. Louis closed last year more than 500 local makers were left without a space to create, fabricate and interact. Square Co-founder and St. Louis native Jim McKelvey, Co-founder of Third Degree Glass Factory Doug Auer, and leaders from the Cortex Innovation District collaborated to create the 32,000 square foot MADE facility. Next summer, the Magic House will open a satellite location on the second floor that will offer classes for children.
