Sue Greenberg, Executive Director, joined VLAA in 1986. During the summer, she worked at The Muny from 1982 to 2021, first as a stage manager and then as company manager. Sue also taught legal issues in the arts for Webster University’s Arts Leadership graduate program from 1991 to 2021. She is a graduate of Washington University, where she majored in Art History and Urban Studies. Sue received the Arts and Education Council Champion for the Arts award in 2019, a St. Louis Bar Foundation Spirit of Justice Award in 2017, a Kick-Ass Award in 2012 and a St. Louis Visionary Award in 2008.

Shayba Diaz Muhammad

Shayba Diaz Muhammad, part-time Community Engagement Manager, joined VLAA in 2024. She is a working artist who is determined to help other St. Louis area creatives thrive. She founded and ran The Makers Program, which supported Black and Latino artisans by providing professional development, networking, and a pop-up makers mart. The program was funded by the Arts and Education Council’s 2018 stARTup Creative Competition. In 2018, Shayba was also selected for the prestigious Focus St. Louis Emerging Leaders program. She is the owner and designer of Mahnal, a collection of handcrafted contemplative brass jewelry. Her pieces are sold online and at Madwell, 21cHotel Museum, and other retail stores domestically and abroad. Shayba holds a BFA from the Institute of Art in Chicago.

Scott Miller, an amazing volunteer, has served as our Summer Associate Program Director since 2016. He was an in-house attorney at Anheuser-Busch Companies for more than 19 years before he retired.
